A great experience in instant messaging.
The first thing that you will find useful running this program is the support for Windows Live! Messenger. Now you can have all your IM friends in one place, avoiding the fact of having several IM programs running on your desktop.
And then, you'll find the REAL worlwide communication: You can make cheap PC-to-Phone Calls to regular and mobile phones, or just make free worldwide PC-to-PC calls.
Also you have de option of videoconference between Yahoo! and Windows Live! IM users.
When you start your conversation, you realize that there's another useful stuff: you can share files by drag-and-drop up to 1GB, wich is a lot of info. This is a great way to send documents, spreadsheets, presentations, or any other files you want, and know when they have been received.
Now that you have learned the basic and useful stuff, it comes the time of customization: You like it, but you can like it more. You want to have all your life in here. What can you do about it? Find some Plug-ins! Customize your Yahoo! Messenger adding all that plug-ins that you want, having lots of news, movies, music or games right into your IM window. You can even listen some music from dozens of free web radio stations or create your own. Also, you can personalize your world with Avatars, Emoticons, Audibles, custom ring tones, and more.
But not all is fun and good time... Sometimes we have to work, don't we? Well, you can use Yahoo! Messenger at work without getting interrupted. You can appear online to some, offline to everyone else. Keep in touch with your colleagues at work, without getting interrupted by your friends or family. And backwards!
I think there's no enough space in this window to describe all the possible uses of this full-featured software, but I'm sure that each user will find his way with it.
And it's Windows Vista compatible.

I do not like this software cause its a resource hog and it automatically logs you in when you do not want to. Also when you're
invisible the software exposes you still telling others online that you are not hiding from them.

cant open yahoo messenger which i just currently installed. What should be done?
hi there at yahoo informer , yes i thinks its a very very nice messenger all around ,but it could use a little nicer
system upgrade ,and jesus please fix it where it dont use so much ram ,,.....and please please fix it so it dont hang up your
pc and lock up on you, im not sure whats causeing it to do this ,but a lots of people are haveing this problem every where
ok. its not just my pc .... aol dont cause this problem though ,but aol is down all the time ,i really like yahoo if you can
get this few bad features fixed , this is a nice software , and its the best when you can get it to function properly
,sometimes it works better than others this is what puzzels me ! so you engineers can gigure that out ,you are the brilliant
ones ,i do well to use it . but its got probley the nicet sytem out there , but these couple little bad habits of it
should really be fixed by all means guys really!! ,the engineers know what to do to fix all these problem we all send into
you , and if your not going to fix them dont ask us to tell you whats wrong are what needs fixing , because im sure your
not hearing these comments for the first time ,you need to repair what ever is wrong so you will have the best in the world as
far as im concerned . thanks ,,

Although it does have an interface that is widely considered to be lacking, it is a fairly elegant program, and is quite popular.
As far as being difficult to install on Vista, there are versions available to address such issues. The only problem that I have
face with this program is the installer. The download size is deceiving...as you are merely downloading an installer. For those of
you who are on dialup, such as me, that presents a problem, particularly if you are accustomed to using a download manager or
would like to install the program on multiple computers. My biggest issue lies in the installer; it constantly experiences
problems, from resetting the progress of the download to crashing all together. All in all, however, I give this program a rating
of four stars.
